Build a verified utility schedule
List connected load, normal operating load and starting demand for every motor and heater. Confirm the local supply voltage and frequency before control panels and motors are finalized.
Treat cooling water as process equipment
Cooling water directly affects crystallizer performance. Review make-up water quality, scaling tendency, tower approach temperature and cleaning access. Water treatment provisions should be included in the plant operating plan.
Separate clean and process drainage
Workshop drainage should distinguish rainwater, clean cooling-water discharge and process-contaminated liquids. Bunds and collection points help prevent uncontrolled release and make housekeeping easier.
Allow room for maintenance
Utilities should not block pump removal, platform access or vessel inspection. Isolation valves, sample points and instrument connections need safe access for routine work in hot conditions.
